Maroon 5 recently saw their fifth studio album, V, hitting the #1 spot on Billboard and are going on strong with the promotion of the record. After the lead single, “Maps”, became a top 10 hit for them, the bandmates dropped its follow-up, “Animals”. The Shellback and Benny Blanco crafted cut now has an accompanying music video.

The Samuel Bayer-directed visuals find the frontman, Adam Levine, having a double life; he’s working as a butcher and stalking a lady obsessively. The girl is played by Behati Prinsloo, Levine’s actual wife. The singer follows her everywhere, watches her every move and even has a dark room filled with photos of hers. We see the two ending up together in bed, with their love-making turned into a bloody-shower affair.

The clip is cinematic and really well-shot, with both a creepy and a sexy side. On the one hand, the main idea of the script could really be that of a horror film, given to us shortly and with good music to go by. On the other hand, the sex scenes are explicit enough to not be left unnoticed.
