Marvel Drops First Teaser Trailer For Inhumans

After an original plan for a film featuring Marvel’s Inhumans fell through, the comic empire has instead decided to partner with ABC for a TV series.

It appears as though Marvel’s ever-expanding film and television universe has gotten yet another addition. According to a story by Looper, Marvel has just released the first teaser trailer for their latest television series Inhumans.

Though the trailer contains no official footage, fans may recognize the distinct voice which questions “Are we supposed to follow our king and remain as silent as he is?” as it belongs to Iwan Rheon, the same actor who played the despicable Ramsay Bolton in HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones. The female voice that responds with “You’re talking about betraying your brother. You’re talking about treason,” likely belongs to Serinda Swan, famous for portraying Aphrodite in 2010’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. In Marvel’s upcoming series, Rheon stars as the Inhuman Maximus, while Swan stars as Queen Medusa.

Originally, Marvel had planned a full-length film centered around the Inhumans, but, after the project fell through, a television series featuring the memorable royal family was picked up by ABC. The upcoming series will see the royals forced into hiding after they are attacked during a military overthrow. The Inhumans manage to escape to Hawaii, of all places, where they begin to interact with humans and concoct a plot that may not only save them but all of humanity as well.

Somewhat uniquely, Marvel plans to air the first two episodes of the series in IMAX theaters beginning on September 1, 2017. After the two week screening period, the series will transfer to ABC’s official television network, where it will conclude its first season.

Inhumans will also star Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Isabelle Cornish as Princess Crystal, Sonya Balmores as Auran, the leader of the Royal Guards of Attilan, and Ellen Woglom as a presently unnamed character created specifically for the ABC program.
