It feels like 2013 may be the superhero year, with sequels and re imaginings, and new suits (I’m looking at you, Man of Steel).

So this autumn, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D airs, with Clark Gregg who played Agent Coulson in the big screen Avengers film as the leader of a team of specialists, investigating ‘strange cases’. Could be any modern show really!

The beauty with this is that, being apart of the Marvel house and being created and directed by Joss Whedon. Naturally it will combine comedy and action like Amanda Bynes and bad weaves!

As you can imagine, from its comic origins to film to tv means that there will bound to be crossovers and Gregg has said as much. "It takes place in a world after The Avengers, so there’s going to be some explaining to do, as to what I’m doing still alive."

This moment in the film is crucial as well, we thought we saw Loki (Tom Hiddleston) killing Coulson, so there’s a bit of explaining to do. The show will begin after the Avengers film, after the battle for New York. How I Met Your Mother alum (and Avengers) star Cobie Smulders has given hints she may appear. Knowing the Whedonverse, cross over episodes and multi-verse characters aren’t a far fetched thought.

At this time, ABC haven’t given any details except for a mid-September airdate.
