Late last year, Mary J. Blige released her thirteenth studio album, The London Sessions, and managed to stun the critics with it. The R&B diva is still going on strong with the promotion and has now picked “Doubt” to serve as the next single, with a music video also premiered.
The accompanying visuals for the soulful tune find Mary J. Blige taking the stage of Harlem’s United Palace Theater while the seats are empty and performing the track live. If anything, she looks fantastic and manages to deliver the emotions of the lyrics perfectly. While she keeps performing the self-empowering track, the theater room all of a sudden looks the sold-out kind of crowded and she’s receiving the well-deserved applause. Thankfully, director Ethan Lader totally knew she could make a simple yet effective clip like that work and went for it.
“Doubt” is the fourth tune to receive the single treatment from the songstress’ latest record, The London Sessions. It serves as a follow-up to “Therapy”, “Right Now” and “Whole Damn Year”, while it looks like Mary J. Blige has already picked “Long Hard Look” to be the next offering from the album. For the time being, take a look at her new music video below.
