Fans of "Full House" received amazing news when Netflix finally announced that a rebooted, sequel series would be taking place in 2016 called "Fuller House". It is set to focus on DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).
While it was confirmed that many of the former stars would be returning for appearances, we were all left wondering if Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen would be as well.....
And now we have our answer.
In a statement from executive producer Robert L. Boyett:“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family," It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House."
Now......I must ask:
Is anyone REALLY surprised by this?
John Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin are all expected to make appearances. Stamos has actually spoken out about the Olsens not returning, saying in a tweet:
I understand they're in a different place and I wish them the best. I promise you will not be dissapointed with our reunion and spin off!! — John Stamos (@JohnStamos) May 23, 2015
To quote the incredible Stephanie Tanner regarding the Olsens?
