Matt Damon took on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but he put his own spin on it in order to raise awareness about those who don’t have clean drinking water.

Bravo, Matt Damon, Bravo.

The celebrity world and your Facebook page have been overflowing with ALS Ice Bucket Challenges over the last couple of weeks. Even the shy types, like Robert Pattinson, have been stepping up to the plate. Thousands of Scrooge McDuck money bags have been collected for the cause, with a side of humor and competitiveness.

Damon decided to take this one step further in the awareness direction and bring up a very interesting point.

We’re all using clean water and ice to pour all over ourselves and, well, waste. Living in first world countries, we can do that. Eight hundred million people of the world do not have that luxury–nor the MacBook, iPhone or Samsung you’re reading this off of.

So what does Damon do? Collected toilet water from different toilets around the house and dumped that on himself instead.

Eww.

That’s exactly the reaction he was looking for to get people thinking. That, and that he can obviously still rock a wet t-shirt well.

He challenged George Clooney, Bono, and Tom Brady.
