Lorne Michaels sure is breaking the bank on strange characters this season on Saturday Night Live. The season started with avant-garde performer Miley Cyrus, segued to comedy's It-girl Amy Schumer, and then saw the triumphant return of Tracy Morgan. Next week, we will be seeing Donald Trump return as host, followed by Elizabeth Banks ... and now, news has broken that Academy Award-winning madman Matthew McConaughey is set to host the show as well.
McConaughey isn't a stranger to Saturday Night Live: he previously hosted in 2003. However, this will be his first hosting gig since his career revitalization and his dominance as a pretty serious actor. I am sure we are set for some True Detective jokes.
Even more exciting is that the musical guest for the episode will be none other than Adele, who has been in the news lately for the announcement of her upcoming album, 25, and a single from that album, "Hello" has been breaking the internet over the last few days. It is Adele's second time as a musical guest, after she last performed in 2008, which was also right before her ascension to fame and acclaim.
McConaughey will be hosting the show on November 21st. Will you be tuning in?
