For those who are big fans of the Chicken McNugget, like a good mystery and want to travel, McDonald's has just the challenge for you.
The international fast food giant is giving away a solid gold McNugget for whomever can figure out who the Mysterious Nugget Thief is. The 18 karat solid gold nugget is part of the top prize for the new campaign in Japan, which is approximately worth $1,500.
By following the Japanese McDonald's Twitter, people can get hints and signs of the elusive thief who is stealing Chicken McNuggets. The account will be releasing details about who the thief is and their location.
Customers can share their guesses about the thief's identity with the hashtag which translates to Mysterious Nugget Thief for a chance to win the Golden Nugget.
The mystery of the Nugget is not the only new thing that people can enjoy at the Japanese locations of the Golden Arches. The campaign will bring the new flavors of limited-edition dipping sauces of Fruit Curry and Creamy Cheese, the 15-piece McNugget pack will be sold at 390 yen instead of the regular price of 570 yen and better yet, during the duration of the campaign one person has a chance to win 39 days of free chicken nuggets.
The Chicken McNugget has been a part of the McDonald's menu since the 1980s as part of "McNugget Mania," where nugget was initially considered a healthier alternative for those who don't want to eat the burgers.
Perhaps if this campaign is successful in Japan, the Golden Arches might bring some similar type of contest to the States for people to enjoy as well.
The Mystery of the Chicken McNugget Thief begins on June 8 and runs until June 28, when people can expect the identity of the culprit as well as the winner of the Golden Nugget to be revealed.
