We’ve all seen Mean Girls. You know, that movie many of us are still obsessed with, which we’ve all seen a million gifs of on Tumblr? We laughed at the story of the inside job with the popular girls, the hilarious pranks Lohan’s character and her friends played on the Plastics to “get even,” and even felt bad when they realized that getting even didn’t always equate to feeling good about it.

And if you didn’t, well, you might have been watching the wrong movie.

Jonathan Bennett, known for his iconic role of Aaron Samuels in the classic film, might recently have been outed as gay. A current contestant on Dancing with the Stars, Bennett never confirmed rumors about his sexuality, even when he was voted hottest male LGBT celebrity.

Okay, so obviously, he’s a person. Maybe he happens to bat for another team. It shouldn’t matter who he likes.

What does matter is DWTS judge Julianne Hough might have dropped the ball about Bennett in an interview with Extra earlier this year. Wow, people are still outing each other like that? Rude much? Homophobes still exist, forcing someone to go public like that is not cool.

According to Hough, the actor tweeted her with a flirty comment.

“He tweeted me last year and said, like, I had a nice butt, but he also tagged my trainer,” Hough recalled. “And so I was like, ‘Oh, he’s hitting on me. I should try to go on a date with him.’”

Further, she was asked to comment on what happened next. “He’s gay. So, I was like, that’s not gonna work.”

Why she claims this is currently unknown. Is it because he happened to tag the trainer as well as Hough? That might not be total confirmation. He did tag her, too, after all. For all we know, he could be gay, he could be bi or pan (for clarification; bi means you like your own and different genders, pan means you like people of all, and regardless of, genders), ace (asexual) or even straight, as the judge has not proved how she “knows” this for sure. Always stay skeptical of celebrity rumors, folks!

Another reason we d0n’t really know, is Bennett’s spokesperson has declined to comment on the interview.
