This week, Fox confirmed that Megan Fox will be appearing on the hit sitcom, New Girl as a guest star!

As you're probably aware, Zooey Deschanel is currently on maternity leave, so Fox will be filing in for the new mama before the actress makes her return for the upcoming season.

The 35-year old actress, who recently gave birth to her first baby in August, sweetly announced the news via her Twitter account.

Fox will play the character of Reagan, a pharmaceutical sales rep who rents out Jess's (Deschanel) apartment while she's away on jury duty.

The show is set to premiere in January and will see Fox as a recurring role in a multiple-episode arc. Creator of the show, Liz Meriwether says that she is excited to have the 29-year old actress on board.

"I've been a fan of her comedic skills since This Is 40, and I’m so excited to have her on the show," she said. "We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part – she’s the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up."

Megan Fox has been quiet ever since her split from husband Brian Austin Green earlier this year, but she made a rare Instagram appearance today. The actress, who is not too fond of the social media craze, posted this black and white selfie to her fans ensuring them that she was "still here."

This is not the first time Megan Fox has been seen on the small screen, the actress appeared on shows such as  What I Like About You and Two and a Half Men before she hit it big with Michael Bay's explosive action packed Transformers.  The actress was last scene in the live action reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

New Girl premiere's its fifth season in January with the Fox calling it an "uninterrupted run of all-new episodes."
