Meghan Trainor has given us a few amazing songs to jam to: 'All About That Bass', 'Dear Future Husband', 'Like I'm Gonna Lose You,' and 'Lips Are Movin' -- and her new release 'No' is no exception! It's a different sound than we've come to know from Trainor, but that doesn't mean anything bad. In fact, it's reminiscent of the early 2000s.
The song was produced by Fifth Harmony, Jason Derulo, and Ricky Reed, which speaks to why it has a more hip hop/pop sound than her previous work and also why it's really good. Fifth Harmony just released 'Work', and we can't stop listening to it. Trainor spends this song telling a guy that everything is "no". She thinks its "cute" that he came up to her, but that wasn't going to change her answer.
Trainor also revealed that her new album will be called Thank You, but it currently has no release date. Trainer said, of her new album, "Also there's some of my Caribbean influences on this album, which I'm very excited about." Trainer also just won her 1st Grammy for Best New Artist of the Year where her acceptance speech made us all say "awwww"! She was so excited, tearful, and genuine about her win, but that isn't going to slow her down at all because there is always more music to be made.
Take a listen below and tell us what you think. It's a throwback sound -- and one we're very excited to welcome. It was a great time for music in the early 2000s; that was when Will Smith was still rapping away! Bring us back to that time period, Meghan Trainor! We will gladly follow you! Sound off in the comments with your thoughts on 'No', and make sure you listen to it a few times because it's just that good!
