There’s nothing that can make you feel older than when your favorite band or movie or television show marks a major anniversary. Well, prepare to cry out in disbelief when you hear that next year marks the 20th anniversary since the Spice Girls first hit the charts. That’s right…20 YEARS!!! Though there have been no official plans announced to mark this momentous occasion, Mel B, aka Scary Spice, has spoken of her wish that the former Girl Power champions will reunite to celebrate the anniversary. Speaking to MTV News, Mel B said, “It will be our 20th year anniversary next year so I'm hoping we do get together and do something. It kind of would be a shame if we didn't”. Well you don’t have to ask us twice- we couldn’t agree more. Mel B has a number of fond memories of her time with the girls. "There's so many highlights from being with the Spice Girls and touring. From meeting Nelson Mandela and hanging out with him at his home, being able to go to Japan and greeting all the Japanese fans, touring Europe, I mean there are so many different things.” She added, "We've done quite a lot, thanks to all the support from Spice fans." However, not all of the Girls have the quite the same passion for a reunion. Victoria Beckham has long been known as holding out on joining the other bandmates for any kind of reunion. Though they all came together for a one-off performance at the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony, Beckham told Vogue Paris, “I realized it was finished for good in 2008, when we reformed for our reunion tour. It should have been the best moment of my life, but I just wanted to be elsewhere. It wasn't a lack of respect for the girls or the audience, but the passion just wasn't there." Whether there’s a full-on reunion tour, a one-off concert or even a special with some of the band members, we certainly hope that something is done to mark the occasion.
