Many fans found the first Supergirl trailer somewhat less than inspiring. It seems that the marketing department at CBS also frequents social media, and has put together an all-new trailer making the series appear infinitely more appealing.
The short trailer mostly features new footage, including the first glimpse of Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord. Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott are also featured. Many critics are saying that this new trailer is much closer to the tone of the pilot, seen in screeners and leaked online earlier this year. This trailer does focus more on action and less on costume montages, which is a terrific start.
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist of Glee fame as Kara Zor-El, Superman’s less famous cousin. The series picks up when the 24-year old Kara decides to become a superhero and help save the world, and follows Kara as she balances her day job with her significantly more dangerous heroic activities.
