ctor Ahmed Best, who played Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars I:  The Phantom Menace, recently revealed that he met Michael Jackson backstage at one of the King of Pop’s shows. 

George Lucas took Best, his kids, and Natalie Portman to a show and when they got backstage, George introduced Best as Jar Jar.  At the time, Best thought that was strange and Michael’s reaction certainly didn’t help matters as he replied, “Oh ok.”

Lucas later revealed that Michael Jackson had actually wanted the role, but Lucas thought MJ was too big of a star to take the role. 

Can you imagine that? Jar Jar Binks is the most hated character in the entire Star Wars universe, but maybe if MJ had played him…

I’m really surprised that Best would even talk about that role anymore, considering the hate people feel for it.  But, in another world, our Jar Jar could’ve been so very different. 

Maybe even with a musical number.
