A shocking development in the stellar career of Formula One champion, Michael Schumacher has occurred.
Schumacher suffered a “severe” head injury and is in a “critical condition” after a skiing accident took place yesterday, December 29.
He had to be airlifted from the French resort, Meribel to the University Hospital of Grenoble, where he arrived at 12:40pm local time. The hospital has released the following statement: “[Schumacher] suffered a severe head injury with coma on arrival, which required neurosurgical intervention immediately. He remains in a critical situation.”
Schumacher owns a chalet in the resort and a spokesperson has confirmed that “Michael fell on his head when he was on a private skiing trip in the French Alps.
“He was taken to hospital and is receiving professional medical attention. We ask for understanding that we cannot give out continuous information about his health. He was wearing a helmet and was not alone. No one else was involved in the fall.”
Schumacher holds countless F1 records and is arguably the most well-known F1 racer in the world. Some of his records include 91 race victories, 68 pole positions and 155 career podiums.
