Michelle Pfeiffer Says Looking Great For Her Age Is Okay Now

Michelle Pfeiffer has revealed that she doesn't feel pressured into looking young. The actress, who co-stars with Robert de Niro in The Family, told the Ladies Home Journal that, “Once you get over a certain hump there actually is less pressure. You can begin to look great for your age. You don’t have to look young anymore.” Pfeiffer added, “I've moved over to that other side-I’m 55, which is a little too close to 60, but looking great for my age is okay now.” Pfeiffer also spoke about her decision to take a break from acting, “It just sort of happened. When the kids were small I used to take them with me on location. But as they got older I didn't want to pull them out of school, and the idea of travelling to make a movie became harder and harder. I started putting caveats on everything-like I’ll do a movie only at a certain time of year, or in a certain location- and I negotiated myself out of work. If I was going to do something that took me away form my kids, it had to matter. Moms often think, ‘Oh, I should be home when the kids are babies.’ But I think they need you more when they’re a little older.” Her newest film, The Family is a black comedy centered on a Brooklyn mobster who is forced to enter the witness-protection program. She told Graham Norton about the first time she met De Niro, saying “it was my first audition ever and I don’t know how my agent got me in the room with Robert. I’m surprised he doesn't remember me because I walked in looking like a hooker!” She went on to talk about getting to shoot scenes with the star, saying, “We would see each other on the red carpet and say, ‘Hello, nice to see you, you were wonderful in the movie.’ So then I get sent this script and I said to my agent, ‘You know what? If I don’t have a scene with him, I am not reading this.” http://www.Twitter.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.tumblr.com http://www.SoundCloud.com/PopWrapped http://www.Facebook.com/PopWrapped http://www.Instagram.com/PopWrapped http://www.Pinterest.com/PopWrapped http://www.YouTube.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.wordpress.com http://www.PopWrapped.com
