Thankfully he’s okay!!

Champion surfer Mick Fanning was in the midst of competition in South Africa when he was blindsided by a great white shark. 

It’s brief at the start of the video, but you see Mick kick ferociously into the water before the camera cuts away. When we seen him again, he’s got help there and he appears to be completely unscathed.

Fanning explained to Fox News following the attack, he actually managed to punch the back of  the shark and just continued to kick until they swam away.

Some reports are stating that there were two sharks, but only one is visible in the video. Mick only stated in the interview that he kicked one. 

Scary moment for Mick that, once again, he thankfully pulled through without serious injury.
