Rock legend and Rolling Stones front man, Mick Jagger at the age of 72 is expecting his eighth child with 29-year old ballerina, Melanie Hamrick.

Jagger had his first child when he was 27-years old, and he will be 73 when the new baby is born. Not counting the one on the way, he has seven children by four different women. The oldest is his daughter Karis with singer Marsha Hunt, then there is Jade with his ex-wife Bianca Jagger. With Jerry Hal he has daughters Elizabeth and Georgina, and sons James and Gabriel. Lastly with model Luciana Gimenez he has a son, Lucas.

Jagger also has five grandchildren, and he became a great-grandfather when Jade’s daughter Assissi gave birth to a girl on May 19, 2014! Which means that the new baby will be younger than his or her grand-niece!

What is even more extraordinary is that he and Hamrick are not exactly a couple since the two are not in (and have never been in) an exclusive relationship.

According to the Daily Mail, his relationship with the ballerina is “sporadic over the past two years.” Their arrangement was said to be that they would meet in New York and spend some time together without anything being serious or official.

Jagger is said to have been fond of ballet dancers. According to a biography written by Christopher Andersen, he had a tryst with leading male dancer, Rudolf Nureyev.

Mick Jagger is well known for being a Lothario, even at his age. And he has an aversion to long term relationships, so it is most probable that things as it stands will remain the same with him and Hamrick. But just like with his other children, he is more than willing and able to support both mother and child. An anonymous friend of Jagger’s told the Daily Mail that “Mick likes the arrangement they have and doesn’t want to be in another formal relationship. But the most important thing is how much he loves his children and he has great relations with them. He will support and love this child.”
