Middle Earth Finds Its Way To Google Chrome

NULL

Google Chrome users can now journey through Middle -earth just like Bilbo Baggins.

Like a simplistic version of Pottermore, “A Journey Through Middle-earth” provides users with the history behind locations and characters from The Hobbit. Locations such as Trollshaw Forest, Rivendell, and Dol Guldur are interactive, featuring games and exclusive stills from An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug. More locations will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Guided by the voice of Gandalf the Grey, users are introduced to the world brought to life by Peter Jackson’s big-screen trilogy.  Scrolling through high-res photos from the films, hidden gifs and literary tidbits are stored throughout the site.

Partnering with Warner Bros, New Line Cinema, and MGM, Google created the Tolkien-inspired experience to bring 3D interactions to mobile devices.

The experience is intended to operate on Android or Apple mobile devices because of their high quality graphics cards.
