Miley Cyrus once again addressed what everyone is talking about (the singer's fascination with twerking and licking stuff) last night during her appearance on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon. "I feel like it was a good time to kind of show people that I don't just twerk and lick stuff," she said of her recent Saturday Night Live hosting gig. "I can sing, and I can act a little bit, too."
As fans know all-too-well, the budding talent first got her big break on Hannah Montana as the precocious tween who lived a double life. "I started auditioning when I was 11," she explained of her early entry into superstardom. "They told me I was too small, too young and had too few of teeth. I only had about four teeth in my mouth at that time."
"Those teeth that I did have had big ole brackets on 'em. So I was really cute, basically," she quips. "I went in for my first audition, and then I came back with the braces, and they looked at me like 'what happened to her over the summer?' It was the reverse of the ugly duckling. I just kept getting uglier."
Also during her appearance, the star, whose newly released "Bangerz" record is No. 1 in 70 countries, teamed up with The Roots for an acoustic rendition of her smash hit "We Can't Stop." Stripping away the boisterous production elements, Cyrus finally put to rest the arguments regarding her talent. The album also features several collaborations, including with Britney Spears on "SMS (BANGERZ)." "I really wanted to put someone who just represented pop music to me," Miley praised. "So many of my fans have grown up watching me. I was so many people's first records that they went out and bought. Britney was my first album. I went out that and Metallica. That showed how bipolar I was."
Later in the segment, a hilarious clip, featuring Cyrus and Fallon, aired called "Real People, Fake Arms." "I've known you for a long time," Jimmy noted, introducing the skit. "A long time ago, we did a Canadian soap opera."
"I played the owner of a nail salon," Miley recalled, "and you were a customer. That was so much fun!"
