‘Mission Impossible 6’ Snags Henry Cavill

It looks like Ethan Hunt is going to be getting some help from Superman, Mr. Henry Cavill himself, in the upcoming Mission Impossible 6!

Last seen in the epic showdown of DC’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), the Man of Steel himself will be joining Tom Cruise in the next installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, according to Collider.

This will not be the first time Henry Cavill will be entering the spy world, as he proved to be quite the smooth, debonair, and sophisticated Napoleon Solo in Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015). He will apparently be on Ethan Hunt’s (Tom Cruise’s) team, serving in the same role as Alec Baldwin (who has not yet been confirmed for a role) in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015). Of course, it would be pretty awesome to see Cavill be not who he appears and have to take on Cruise himself — or should we say, have Cruise have to take on Cavill (he is quite tall, after all). Now THAT would be an epic fight.

All of the Mission: Impossible films have been great action-packed rides, especially as of late with the last two, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), so adding Cavill to the mix just gets us even more pumped for the next (and final?) mission. The synopsis for the future follow-up has yet to be revealed.

Mission: Impossible 6, should you choose to accept it, will hit theaters next summer on July 27, 2018, starring Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and now Henry Cavill, and hopefully, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner (they are still rumored in the casting process at this point). Christopher McQuarrie, director of the last film of the series, Rogue Nation, and Jack Reacher (2012), is set to direct.

Until then, you can see Tom Cruise in The Mummy on June 9, 2017, and maybe Henry Cavill coming back to play a certain character in Justice League on November 17, 2017.
