Staff Writer For most average folks, working at 76 years old is a bit over retirement age, but in Hollywood our golden oldies seem to get better with age and Morgan Freeman is proving just that!
With the rumors flying around that renowned actor Morgan Freeman would be retiring, we had to prepare ourselves for the worst. The movie world without Freeman? Who else would be able to inspire us like he did in Invictus, teach us about racism and prejudice like he did in Driving Miss Daisy, and can anyone play the President of the United States better than he did in Deep Impact??
But no need to panic, friends! Freeman has come forward to set the record straight and thank the movie gods he has no plans of retiring any time soon.
“To once again paraphrase Mark Twain, the news of my retirement is greatly exaggerated; I have no intention of retiring now or any time in the next several decades”, he said in a statement released by his rep to E! News.
The star, who began his career in 1964, is by no means considering retiring with 6 movies coming up this year including Transcendence and the sequel to Dolphin Tale.
Morgan Freeman, and a very few other actors, are like good wine: they just seem to get better with age!
