We can all look forward to tuning into MTV this year, because the network has added two new teen comedies to its lineup. MTV has ordered eight episodes of both Happyland
and Faking It
and we can only hope that these two very different shows can help boost the networks ratings.
The Hollywood Reporter
confirmed that Happyland
is a teen drama that tells the story of a famous theme park. The pilot which was directed by Lee Toland, stars Bianca Santos
, Zulay Henao and Shane Harper. The pilot will also feature Cameron Moulene, Brady Smith and Katherine McNamara.
By contrast, the other MTV ordered pilot, Faking It,
will follow two best friends on their journey to get in with their high schools popular crowd. The pilot will star Bailey Buntain of Bunheads
fame, Gregg Sulkin, Katie Stevens and Michael Willett.
are the first shows to be picked up since the addition of MTV's new president Susanne Daniels.
