The 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards has just come to a conclusion in Amsterdam, hosting an array of musical artists. The show which took place in the Ziggo Dome featured several performances by artists including Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Eminem. Next year, the awards ceremony that recognizes music all around the globe, will make its move to Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow. It is set to take place in the new SSE Hydro Arena which officially opened up on this past September. Rod Stewart was the first artist to grace the arena with his presence and performance. Recently the awards show took place in Spain, Germany and Ireland, and the last time Scotland hosted the MTV EMAs was in 2003. "As one of the world's great music cities, Glasgow is always a favorite with artists and the new SSE Hydro will provide the perfect backdrop for the MTV EMAs in its 20th anniversary year,” said Bruce Gilmer, Executive Vice President of talent, music programming and events for Viacomm International Media Networks. "We're thrilled that the eyes of the music world will be on Glasgow next year." As for the 2013 MTV EMAs, all the performers mentioned earlier received awards for the night, as well as Avicii, Justin Bieber, Beyonce and Green Day. Also, Chris Lee of China took home the award for Best Worldwide Act.  Surprisingly the artists who received the most nominations, Justin Timberlake and Macklemore, didn’t take any awards home. While people will still be buzzing about the 2013 performances and winners of the MTV EMAs in the upcoming days, we can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for music!
