On Sunday, July 7, Grammy Award-winning folk rock group, Mumford and Sons, returned to #1 on the UK Albums Chart. Their second album, Babel, debuted at #1 back in September of 2012 and made a second appearance as #1 two weeks later on October 14th.
Sales of their album increased a week after the band took the stage at the 2013 Glastonbury Festival and headlined the final night. It is one of the UK’s biggest music festivals, and this year the Arctic Monkeys, Rita Ora and the Rolling Stones were also among the performers.
Since the release of Babel, the album has received a lot of praise. The album was nominated for four Grammy Awards this year and took home the coveted “Album of the Year” award. It has also received the Juno Award for Best International Album of the Year, as well as a nomination at the 2012 Brit Awards.
Mumford and Sons is currently on a world tour taking over Europe and heading to North America in August.
