Muppet Babies Return To Disney Junior

Exciting news for fans of The Muppets! A revamped version of the classic series Muppet Babies is set to debut on Disney Junior in 2018.

This week, Muppet fans got some exciting news — The Muppet Babies are returning to television! The news broke on Twitter:

The original Muppet Babies aired 30 years ago from 1984-1991. Now, this classic cartoon gets to join in on the reboot fun. Those who grew up watching the gang and their silly playhouse antics are now parents themselves and will get to share their love for Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, and Ms. Piggy (just to name a few) with their own children.

The new show isn’t set to debut for another year (2018), but this is what we do know: it will be geared towards audiences ages 4-7, it will air on Disney Junior, and it promises to have the same imagination-filled adventures as the original. The big difference, however, is the cartoon will get a modernized upgrade in the form of CGI animation.

“We are proud, and a little bit giddy, to begin production on our new version of the much-loved Muppet Babies. Parents will delight in seeing their favorite Muppets in the mixed animation style they remember from the original series, and kids will be introduced to this warm and zany world made just right for the Disney Junior audience.” Says Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President of Disney Junior Worldwide.

Since obtaining the rights to The Muppets franchise, Disney has been able to make a number of exciting new shows, movies, and merchandise possible. This allows a whole new generation to love these timeless characters over and over again.
