Alternative musician Nick Cave has lost his teenage son as the result of a tragic accident. Arthur Cave fell from a cliff in Brighton, Sussex, England on July 14 and died at a hospital shortly after.
A coroner is investigating the incident, but authorities have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious. Information has not been officially released regarding specifics of the events leading to the accident, but sources told the BBC that the 15-year-old had been playing on the cliffs with a friend and the pair had even been posting updates about their adventures on social media.

The family released the following statement:
“Our son Arthur died on Tuesday evening. He was our beautiful, happy loving boy. We ask that we be given the privacy our family needs to grieve at this difficult time.”
A prolific and influential musician and writer, Nick Cave is most well-known as a member of the seminal Australian Post-Punk band The Birthday Party and as the frontman for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
