Check out Zayn's latest Mind of Mine release, help Iggy kick off her Digital Distortion campaign, take a trip to Niykee Heaton's bedroom, and so much more on this week's playlist below!
"Team" - Iggy Azalea
Who dat who dat? It's I-G-G-Y going hard on her official return to the scene on this week's #MusicMonday. The Aussie-born rapper released the first official single from her upcoming album Digital Distortion, and it's clear that the femcee is taking no prisoners on the tightly produced hit. The track proclaims Iggy's independence before descending into a grimy, electronic breakdown that practically begs listeners to twerk along. "Team" treads in a significantly more urban territory than Iggy's previous lead singles, and it leaves us ready to hear more in the coming months!
"BeFoUr" - Zayn Malik
Zayn Malik is less than a full week from his solo debut on Mind of Mine, and the UK crooner has captured the imagination of his fans with "Befour," the latest track to come from the album. A distinctive pop&B production races underneath Zayn's sweet vocals as he begs for honesty in a relationship. It's another compelling listen from the former boybander, and Zayn continues to prove that he will shine as a solo act.
"No Broken Hearts" - Bebe Rexha ft. Nicki Minaj
Bebe Rexha recruited Nicki Minaj to help her get over an ex on her summery anthem "No Broken Hearts." The rising talent showcases her pristine pop vocals and slick lyricism over a bouncy and laid-back production, and her "Hey Mama" collab serves a predictably hot guest verse that elevates the track to the next level. After the rampart success of "Me, Myself, And I" it's refreshing to hear more from Bebe, and we're hoping that this could be the beginning of the mega-talented artist's rise to the top!
"Welcome To the Show" - Adam Lambert ft. Laleh
Adam Lambert teamed up with iconic producer Max Martin and rising Swede pop talent Laleh on his heartwarming new release "Welcome to the Show." The track sets an inspirational message of being true to yourself over a moody production, and Lambert's voice absolutely soars over the absolutely gorgeous arrangement.
"Devil" - Niykee Heaton
Straight from her Bedroom Tour to our #MusicMonday playlist, sensual seductress Niykee Heaton slithers across a rocking production and becomes the talk of the town on new track "Devil." The Chicago native owns her larger than life persona as she coos across the growling production. "Call me what you want, I'm a rebel till the devil goes down" she confidently proclaims, and effectively titillating with her brazen confidence.
"Be Alright" - Ariana Grande
Self-proclaimed Dangerous Woman Ariana Grande returns to more familiar territory on the second official release from her impending album. After descending into a blues-influenced seduction on the album's title track, Grande makes a purposeful return to the dance floor on her electro-kissed "Be Alright." Pulling influence from 90's house, Grande's characteristic vocals triumphantly soar over the joyful production. It may be less forward thinking than "Dangerous Woman," but it's still an enjoyable listen through and through.
"Temple" - Baauer, M.I.A., G-Dragon
After achieving international acclaim with 2012's viral "Harlem Shake," American hitmaker Baauer has teamed up with M.I.A. and G-Dragon to recreate the success on the downright delectably unhinged "Temple." After an ethereal introduction the track descends into a grimy beat that is perfectly complimented by M.I.A. and G-Dragon's brazenly spat verses. The track exudes attitude, and it goes HARD.
"BASMF" - 3OH!3
3OH!3 make a return to the scene on their unapologetically hard-hitting "BASMF." The dup have never done things according to the rules, a fact that they make explicitly clear as they bounce atop a frantic production. The track doesn't necessarily hit as hard as their earlier material, but it definitely makes an impression on this #MusicMonday.
"Thief" - Alexander Jean
Roaring strings set the scene for duo Alexander Jean make a big impact on their latest effort "Thief." Comprised of boyfriend-girlfriend pair Mark Ballas and BC Jean, the twosome combined Ballas' multi-instrumental skills with BC's larger than life vocals to create a timeless sound. On their latest effort BC's compelling voice draws listeners in, before she goes in for the kill. Playing the role of a femme fatale, BC breaks a few hearts and leaves her victims as husks of their former selves. It's a hard knock life, but at least they went out listening to her powerful vocals. Just saying, there are far worse ways to go...
"Never Let It Die" - Empire Cast, Jussie Smollett, Yazz
The cast of Empire come together to proclaim their respect for music and family on their latest effort "Never Let It Die." Showcasing Yazz and Jussie Smollett, the track exudes with energy and is an inspiring listen as we kick off the week with a #MusicMonday. On the track the twosome vow to never let the music die, and they determine that nothing will ever get in their way.
