MySpace Retro Takes Us Back To The Good Old Days

MySpace Retro is here! Bringing us simplicity and style in the new age of social media, MSR is ready to make you fall in love with the early 2000s!

MySpace used to be the hot social media platform when it first launched in 2003. It took my friends at least a year to convince me to get a Facebook account back in high school. With the recent launch of MySpace Retro, users can relive the good old days of plain layouts, red alerts, and free advertising.

Musicians loved the old MySpace platform. It was free, easy to use, and even included a music player on their page, allowing other users to listen to a song or two before deciding to buy the whole album.

MySpace Retro brings all of that back, including the ability to code horrendously awesome profile themes.

Unfortunately, MSR is not yet available for mobile users.

Luckily, setting up your profile is easier than ever with basic questions and even an upgrade for your Top 11. Apparently a lot of people are already flocking to MSR for a taste of the glory days of social media, so you’re bound to get a few friend requests before you get redirected to your main page.

It definitely gives new meaning to the classic “Anything you can do I can do better.” In the advancing age of social media, perhaps simplicity is key. No one wants to pay $5 just to boost their latest post to an extra 100 people when they can post a few songs on their profile and let their fans decide for themselves.

MySpace was great until they tried to keep up with what they “thought” social media should look like. Maybe this will be a whole new age. Other media platforms (here’s looking at you, Google+ and Tsu) who have tried to outdo Facebook and failed.

Retro is definitely making a comeback if fashion trends are any indication. Looks like social media is bringing simplicity into the future.
