Talk You Down was inspired after multiple conversations with my best friend of 10 years. She has severe anxiety and in the past,  she used to overthink and worry often in her relationship. I wanted to write a song to set the standard of how you should treat your significant other when they have anxiety. Anxiety played a big role in my last relationship as well so I feel like this is something that needs to be talked about.” Nano explains.

“The message of Talk You Down is when you are involved with someone who is facing anxiety, you have to be aware that it is their mental health and it is not something they can easily control. You have to be willing to reassure your significant other and show them how much you love them if you are seeing signs that they may need that. Support them. Do not get defensive, upset and cause arguments if they are worried and questioning things due to nervousness, just reassure them that they are the only person your heart wants and make them feel special. No matter how many times your person needs to be reassured, just do it and be understanding.” Nano also noted.

This track is different for me for sure. I have always been into the more indie-folk type of vibe. This is really my first time having more of a beat behind my voice on an original song. I want to have a variety when I release my music. I do not want all my songs having the same vibe. I love how Harry Styles releases all different types of songs. Some are more commercial pop like “Adore You”, while some are very indie-folk like his song “Fine Line”.”  Nano explains.

“This song is about dealing with anxiety and insecurities while in a relationship. If your person is suffering with anxiety and worries about losing you, don’t take it personal or get upset with them. It is possible that this fear of losing someone is embedded in their mind due to past experiences of losing a loved one. No matter what, just reassure them, make them feel loved and talk them down.”

“Your heart is all I know when I’m alone” is my favourite lyric. Not only because it’s the first lyric I wrote for the entire song, but because there is so much passion behind it. It brings the song together and I can write a whole book off of just that line. It is all about reassuring your loved one that they are all you want, all you think about and their love is all you know and all you need. It is telling your lover who has anxiety not to even think twice about if you love them because their heart and presence feels like home to you.” Nano added.
