For those of you who are wondering what in the world we are talking about; "Mork and Mindy" premiered in 1978 as a spin-off to "Happy Days", and ran for four seasons until 1982. Centering on the love story between an alien from planet Ork and an all-American girl from Colorado, the sitcom gained a huge following, and became an instant fan favorite. It earned two Emmy nominations, boasted guest stars such as Jonathan Winters who played Mork and Mindy's son, and introduced the world to Robin Williams' comedic talent.
The world fell in love with Mork and Mindy, tuning in each week and then in syndication. Pam Dawber reveals a fun mood on set, even biting her lip not to laugh at her co-star's humorous antics. It was also reported that many of Williams' lines were improvised and the script simply said "Robin does his thing". The pair instantly became favorite TV's cute and comedic couple. Actress Mindy Kaling was even reportedly named after Dawber's character on the show, as it aired when her mother was pregnant. Undoubtedly, Mork and Mindy's reunion will be happily anticipated!
Come on now Captain and Tennille - take your cue from Mork and Mindy........if love can keep an earthling and an extra-terrestrial together, there's certainly hope for you :)
