Nathan Fillion Was A

When asked about his role in the upcoming Disney-Pixar film, Monsters University, Castle actor Nathan Fillion said that he wasn’t much like his character, Johnny Worthington.

"I wasn’t really a ‘winner’ growing up. I was more of a ‘weiner.’"

Fillion plays your stereotypical frat boy.

"Johnny Worthington is the socially dangerous guy, because he is good looking, super popular and he’s a jerk. He’s a bully; he’s like the guy you don’t want to be around."

When asked how he felt about portraying such a jerk, he replied: “I love it. I love playing flawed characters. We can relate to having flaws, and we can relate to… there are people around us that have these flaws. I just think it’s important to be ‘flawed’ without being a stereotype.”
Fillion pulled off the part quite nicely, despite not having been the popular jock in school. “He’s probably the guy who had the dad who was like, ‘I didn’t raise a loser; I raise winners.’ because winning is everything to Johnny.”

You can catch Nathan Fillion staring alongside Billy Crystal and John Goodman in Monsters University in theaters now.
