Since David Letterman announced his retirement last week, rumors have been swirling about who would replace him as show host. Everyone from Chelsea Handler to Neil Patrick Harris has been thrown into the mix.
Neil, who is currently starring in the revival of Hedwig & the Angry Inch was asked about the possibility of taking over for Dave. His response? Well, he doesn’t exactly have time to host a talk-show right now. “That hasn’t even been a conversation at all” he told the New York Observer. “It would be an asinine amount of work.”
He continued “I’m a big fan of CBS and Les (Les Moonves, head of CBS) so who knows?”
How I Met Your Mother was a CBS production (you’re still reeling from that finale too, right?) and they would probably love to get him back! So while he may not have time for that right now, it could still happen if the job is still open in 2015.
