Even with hit shows in the past few years like Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Mad Men, cable is still on a decline, and it all may be due to Netflix. The number of households with premium cable channels has dropped by 6 percent in the last 18 months, according to the global information company the NPD group. On the other hand online streaming subscriptions like Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime Instant Video rose by 4 percent. Although there is no solid proof that the drop or rise in both platforms is due to new competition, but it sure looks like Netflix and others are taking away from the norm of having premium cable. “It’s fair to say … that some of the shift that you’re seeing is probably caused by Netflix,” senior vice president of the NPD group Russ Crupniock told the L.A. Times. “Some of this could be caused by the economy. It could be people looking at their cable bills and saying, ‘I can’t afford this.’” http://www.Twitter.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.tumblr.com http://www.SoundCloud.com/PopWrapped http://www.Facebook.com/PopWrapped http://www.Instagram.com/PopWrapped http://www.Pinterest.com/PopWrapped http://www.YouTube.com/PopWrapped https://pop-wrapped.wordpress.com http://www.PopWrapped.com
