Over the last year, real estate mogul turned Republican presidential front-runner, Donald Trump, has dominated media attention, much to the chagrin of many Americans, who strongly disagree with many of his proposed policies and personal opinions. Similar to other celebrities in the past, avoiding references to Trump and his outlandish statements and actions has been, thus far, virtually impossible.
That is, until now. For those Americans wishing for new year free from all the Trump madness, "punk rock technologist" Rob Spectre has a treat for you! The self-proclaimed "Internet Mathmagician" has created an open source Chrome extension which filters out all mentions of Donald Trump from any web pages you may visit. The extension, which was released last week, features three levels of filtration - mild, aggressive, and vindictive - based on how much the user wants to avoid Trump.
According to the extension's webpage, Spectre created the extension, not for any political party or the like, but as the result of his "profound sense of annoyance and patriotic duty". The extension's mission is simple and clearly stated - to delete Donald Trump from the internet and make America great again. And although the extensions capabilities have yet to extend to the television, Spectre hopes that as installs increase, Trumps media attention will decrease. Dare to dream, Spectre. Dare to dream.
The Trump Filter is available for free through the Chrome Web Store.
