Christmas is close and the BBC has gifted us with yet another batch of photos from the upcoming 'Doctor Who' Christmas special, featuring River Song!
It’s getting closer and closer to Christmas, and the BBC keeps giving Whovians new and exciting presents leading up to the Doctor Who Christmas special. We have already been treated to a number of wonderful set photos, including the one above, but earlier today they released a whole bunch more. Obviously, spoilers follow.

The episode is entitled “The Husbands of River Song”. The BBC has also released a full synopsis:
It’s Christmas Day on a remote human colony and the Doctor is hiding from Christmas Carols and Comedy Antlers. But when a crashed spaceship calls upon the Doctor for help, he finds himself recruited into River Song’s squad and hurled into a fast and frantic chase across the galaxy.
King Hydroflax (Greg Davies) is furious, and his giant Robot bodyguard is out-of-control and coming for them all. Will Nardole (Matt Lucas) survive? And when will River Song work out who the Doctor is?
It’s a neat twist on how we first met River; when she knew everything about the Doctor and he was the one trying to work out who she was. Showrunner Steven Moffat wrote the episode and noted that, unlike last year’s Santa-filled episode, this one won’t have as strong of a Christmas feel. Instead, it seems like it will be more of an adventure tale, with the Doctor and River going “off on a chase” while “at the height of their powers”. In River’s timeline, this episode takes place “immediately after The Angels Take Manhattan”, which was the last time the Doctor saw Amy and Rory.
The photos that were recently released don’t give too much away, aside from a wonderfully worded note on the TARDIS, but are just right to get Whovians everywhere amped up even more for the special.
