Erinn Westbrook has joined the cast of Glee at a very tragic time. The newly-appointed Cheerio is appearing on the show after the death of Cory Monteith, who passed away in July.
This past Thursday, the new Glee cast member appeared at People Style Watch‘s Hollywood Denim Party, presented by Gilt.com, and she had nothing but praise for the cast. She noted the “optimistic” atmosphere on set.
“There’s a sense of camaraderie. I admire them so much for being able to do it,” she said, referring to the cast’s ability to continue working despite their grieving. “I think that, acting, and for them to come back together, was a very therapeutic way to deal with it all.”
She continued the praises by adding, “Again, proud of them, admire them, respect them, and happy to be working with them.”
As far as the tribute goes, she believes fans of show will be happy with the emotional episode. “I think that fans really will like it was a fitting way to wrap everything up and it was a beautiful tribute to Cory.”
Speaking more about the tribute episode, yesterday she spoke to Wetpaint and added, “Everybody has been extremely optimistic and I admire them so much to be able to push through and come together to work so hard. They are such a talented group of people, I’m lucky to be a part of this group now.”
She noticed Cory’s presence is still “definitely felt” on set.
She said: “There are cast photos on set and I think they’ll leave them there. They don’t want to forget, they’ll always remember.”
The fifth season of Glee premieres September 26th. Cory’s tribute episode will air on October 10th.
