We might finally be getting the Spider-Man movie that we've always wanted. Now that Spidey is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he can be integrated into Marvel's own vision for the films. We have known that Tom Holland has been cast as Spider-Man/Peter Parker and that he would likely be first appearing in Captain America: Civil War, but confirmed details beyond that have been hard to come by.
Now, we have a few more things to tally until the MCU Spider-Man film is released in 2017. Firstly, we know that Peter Parker will be 15 years old in the new film. I guess it's a good thing that Tom Holland is rather young-looking, as he will be 20 by the time filming begins! The new film has been described as "a coming-of-age high school movie".
It has also been confirmed that we won't see Uncle Ben die yet again. Spider-Man director Jon Watts said that "[t]here are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben". I've yet to see how exactly Marisa Tomei will be able to portray Aunt May with any conviction, but, hey!, I've been surprised before.
I think it'll be fun to jump into Spider-Man's story as it progresses -- rather than waiting at least a half hour into the film to even see him bit by that pesky spider. Are you convinced by these new Spider-details? Are you excited to take your first peek at Holland's Spider-Man in Civil War?
