While our friends in the US are stuffing themselves with turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and a lot more other delicious dishes, Digital Spy has given the rest of us something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day… seven new pictures from the upcoming The Hobbit sequel, The Desolation of Smaug.
With only weeks left till the release of the second film in Peter Jackson’s trilogy, the new images (featuring a number of your favourite characters from An Unexpected Journey along with some new faces) give fans something to tide them over till the film hits cinemas on December 13.
Picking up from where An Unexpected Journey left off, The Desolation of Smaug sees Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) continue on his journey with Gandalf (Sir Ian McKellen) and the dwarves in an attempt to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from Smaug the dragon (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch).
