The sixth season of Dance Moms on Lifetime is here! The first episode of this season aired on January 5th. Dance Moms follows a group of dancers on the elite competition team lead by Abby Lee Miller, the teacher. Abby Lee Miller owns Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and another location in Los Angeles, California.
The girls competing this season are- Mackenzie Ziegler (11), Maddie Ziegler (13), Jojo Siwa (12), Kendall Vertes (13), Kalani Hilliker (15), Nia Frazier (14), and just joining is Brynn Rumfallo (12). The girls moms are- Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni, Jessalynn Siwa, Jill Vertes, Kira Girard, Holly Hatcher-Frazier, and Ashlee Allen.
Not all the girls are present in every dance during the season because of opportunities they get to do other things. The one dancer who is rumored to be leaving the season early is Maddie Ziegler because of her new roles in some movies.
According to an exclusive article by Alli Rosenbloom in US Magazine, the rumor is true. Season six is Maddie's final season on the hit television show. At only 13-years-old, Maddie already has a successful career.
A source who knows what is really going with Maddie and her career after Dance Moms says, "Ziegler’s pursuit of the big screen is already in motion thanks to her frequent collaborator, mentor and bestie, Sia Furler. The “Alive” singer cast Maddie as the lead in Sister, a feature film that Sia, 39, wrote and will direct. 'Acting is something she’s really excited to pursue and [Maddie] is in high demand..'". Because of these new roles she has gotten and what is to come, Maddie won't return.
The girls left are Mackenzie, Nia, Jojo, Kalani, Kendall, and Brynn. They have to face the wrath of Abby as she goes through legal troubles, handling two studios, and creating a group of "minis."
What Rosenbloom says about Abby's legal troubles is, "Miller’s fate on the show has yet to be determined, and if convicted, she could face five years in prison as well as a $250,000 fine for each count." Will Abby eventually go to jail and leave the groups and studios behind or stay and continue to teach?
