With the 'Sherlock' Christmas Special Episode arriving this Christmas, the BBC has further teased the fans with another image of the two main stars.

As fans patiently wait for the new Sherlock special to hit their screens, the BBC has given them all a little treat with the posting of this picture, which they shared via their Twitter account yesterday.

The image sees Sherlock himself (Benedict Cumberbatch), dressed in Victorian era clothing and looking incredibly serious (then again, when doesn’t he in this show?), while side-kick John Watson (Martin Freeman) leans against the chair arm on his right.

The much-loved show will return to TV screens this Christmas for a 90-minute episode, after an 18+-month hiatus. The image is a nice teaser ahead of the Sherlock panel which will take place at this years’ Comic-Con.

Speaking about the special, co-creator Steven Moffat said earlier this year:

“The special is its own thing…it’s not part of the run of three episodes… it’s kind of in its own little bubble.”

Moffat will join producer Sue Vertue and Rupert Graves who plays Lestrade for the panel in Ballroom 20 tomorrow between 3.45 and 5.15pm. The new series meanwhile is scheduled to begin filming early next year.
