X-Files fans, all signs are pointing to the return of Agents Mulder and Scully!
News about Fox television’s possible revival of the series has been swirling around the internet since early this year. Now TV Wise claims the series is close to being a done deal. The series will reportedly be a limited run of under a dozen episodes. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will both be back on board, as well as series creator Chris Carter. Carter will write the episodes and act as executive producer.
It’s still too early to know script specifics, but TV Wise sources claim that the new series may provide closure to some plot points never addressed in the original series or follow-up films. Co-star Mitch Pileggi and other original members of the cast and writing team may also return.
The original series was a critical and ratings success during its run from 1993-2002 and maintains a fervent fan following to this day.
