Nicholas Hoult and Michael Shannon have joined the cast of upcoming sci-fi thriller, ‘Young Ones’, joining ‘Super 8’ star Elle Fanning and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
The Subtopica production, written and directed by Jake Paltrow, (the younger brother of Gwyneth Paltrow, who featured in his last film and directorial debut ‘The Good Night’, released way back in 2007), is set in a near-future, where water has become the most precious resource on the planet. It follows a 14-year-old boy (suggested to be McPhee – the youngest cast member so far) in his struggle to survive. Shooting began in early February, in South Africa’s Northern Cape desert.
Nicholas Hoult is best known for his roles in ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘Warm Bodies’, and Michael Shannon plays the antagonist in the upcoming ‘Man Of Steel’.
