Aussie rapper Nick de la Hoyde makes a big impression with his “Never Gonna Beg For It” music video.

Nick de la Hoyde is back on the scene with his latest single, and the crooner is continuing to grow into his talents before our eyes. Last time we checked in on the rapper, he was serving a contemplative cover of Lukas Graham’s “7 Years,” but now he has returned with “Never Gonna Beg For It” and you won’t want to miss it!

“Never Gonna Beg For It” signifies a sonic shift for the rapper, as he embraces a heavier and more mature sound. Describing the track as having a “dream pop kind of 

vibe” to JustJaredJr, de la Hoyde went on to explain that the track showcases his various musical inspirations. “It’s R&B, but it’s dance. You can get down to it,” he assured fans. 

Lyrically, the track sees de la Hoyde captured in a passionate romance. Although he vowed never to put himself in a situation where he’d be begging for attention from a lover, Nick realizes that it is time to put his heart on the line. Delivered with his characteristically thoughtful vocals, and, with his impressive flow, he effortlessly oscillates between singing and rapping the emotional lyrics. 

Production duo Joseph and John de la Hoyde add to the track’s intrigue with their genre-hopping aesthetic. Synths soar above the sparse and atmospheric background, and a racing bassline and somber keys draw the listener in even closer to Nick’s aching heart. The final result is another captivating release from the rising talent; a release that further cements his status as a voice to keep an eye on.

In the accompanying visual, Nick and a romantic interest serve face while holding court in a gritty (and neon adorned) palace of sorts. There isn’t much plot, but the twosome provide brooding and gorgeous glamour shots throughout. It’s a simple yet appropriate video for the moody track, and it showcases the budding artist’s simple star power.

Atmospheric and gritty, “Never Gonna Beg For It” is an attractive release that has serious hit potential. Nick de la Hoyde is maturing and developing a unique style with the track. The Aussie crooner is leaving us wanting even more, so we hope that another new track follows sooner than later!
