Nick Hissom Debuts Music Video For ‘Where You Are’

Singer/songwriter Nick Hissom recently released the music video for his latest single, “Where You Are.”

An upbeat, synth-laced love song, it boasts a sunny electronic vibe that has taken over within the last few years, but its message is given a slightly different edge when paired with the music video.

The Riley Robbins-directed short film makes it clear that Nick and his love interest are dangerous when they’re together, and anyone who tries to keep them apart–even hardened criminals–is in for a fight.

I was somewhat surprised by the plot, but I love that more and more contemporary music videos are being presented as somewhat daring short films–from Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” to The 1975’s Quentin Tarantino-inspired “Robbers” music video.

The shots in the “Where You Are” video transition from sensual to sweet to mildly tense within four minutes, tempting you to watch it repeatedly to make sure you absorb the entire experience.

Watch “Where You Are” below.

“Where You Are” is from Nick’s brand new EP, Love Energy, which is available now on iTunes.
