And you thought your old Facebook photos were bad.
Movie stars are not excluded from embarrassing throwback photos. After all, there was a time when they were ordinary people who did not have the advantage of professional photographers, stylists and makeup artists.
Surely, when those beauty professionals are involved, we are treated to immaculate pictures of our favorite stars. However, that wasn't always the case for some stars. Much to the detriment of the always gorgeous Nicole Kidman.
In last week's episode of The Graham Norton Show, in which Nicole, together with her Lion co-star, Dev Patel and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's Felicity Jones, was a guest, host Graham Norton broached the topic of Australia's Dolly Magazine closing down.
"Dolly Magazine was very important to you when you were starting out," Norton told Kidman, who seemed to have an inkling of what would happen next. She awkwardly answered with, "Yeah, I got on the cover of Dolly Magazine."
And, on cue, the talk show host showed an image of that 1983 cover of 14 year old Kidman sporting red curly hair. Nothing wrong with it, the close up headshot featured in the cover looked every inch the screen goddess we know and love.
Nicole even pointed out that she had dyed her hair red, and it wasn't really that color.
Then, Graham veered to the topic of what we would find in that edition, "Inside there's fabulous high fashion shots," he said. To which Nicole gasped, "Oh god!"
Graham showed a few shots of the inside spread with Nicole dressed in 80s fashion, much to the delight of Dev Patel. One picture showed her with a red-satin blazer, white jeans with rope seaming and knee-high red boots!
For Nicole, though, there was one thing she still wished she had from that photo shoot, and, thankfully, it wasn't any of the clothes, “I honestly wish my hair was like that now,” she said referring to her curly locks. “Anyone who has curly hair that’s young, keep your curly hair. Don’t straighten it, because after a while, you don’t get your curls back. They kind of just become frizz mass.”
Graham Norton, then, pulled out another picture, which caused her fellow guests and audience to burst into applause.
