Downton Abbey comes back this month and one of the new recruits to the Abbey is letting us in on some secrets about his character. In a recent interview with the Radio Times former EastEnders star, Nigel Harman, reveals that his character, Mr Green, is set to be a troublemaking valet in series four of the much beloved show.
Harman is no stranger to playing the antagonist, as his EastEnders character, Dennis Rickman, was himself a bit of a bad boy. However he states that where he found Dennis to be possessing of “some redeeming qualities”, Mr Green, whom he describes as “incredibly charming”, is found wanting of any redeeming qualities.
From the sound of it Mr Green is so charming that he’s almost “too good to be true”. And in fact turns out to be just that. It looks like the majority of his scenes, and therefore stirring, will be with Mr Bates and Anna. What on earth could this character be plotting with one of our favourite remaining ships? After the soul shattering third series the extremely dedicated fanbase probably can’t handle any more blows to their strongholds. How do you think Mr Green will antagonise our favourite characters?
Downton Abbey's fourth series returns to ITV on Sunday, September 22 and to PBS in the US on Sunday, January 5. For anyone who has yet to see the trailer for the latest series, check it out below.
