*NSYNC Weigh In On Miley Cyrus' VMA Performance

*NSYNC reunited on stage last Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards and every girl and boy that grew up in the 90s were left with happy feelings. But it seems that Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance has overshadowed our childhood heartthrobs.

Justin Timberlake was being honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at Sunday’s award show. As part of the celebration, the rest of the boy band that started JT’s career joined him on stage to perform a few of their big hits.

However, before they actually hit the stage, Cyrus had a performance that had the audience shocked. In fact, *NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick and the rest of his bandmates were not amused by it at all.

In an interview with radio show Johnny’s House, Kirkpatrick was practically speechless. “Well, that was a performance. That was different,” he said. “I saw Justin getting a little angry and when he gets angry I said, ‘Uh oh, that means we better be on point cuz he’s about to go out and kill it now’.” And that they did.

While JT may have been angry at the time, he did go on to ask 97.1 AMP Radio listeners what they really expected from the former Disney sweetheart. “She’s declaring her womanhood. Let her do her thing, man… I don’t have anything to say about that, but she got y’all’s attention! This was not the Grammys, this was not the Oscars, this was the VMAs.” That is right. There have been other shock inducing performances. “This was where Madonna came out in a wedding dress and humped the stage. This is where Britney did the striptease. This is where you do it,” Justin noted. The world clearly was not ready for that though.

Kirkpatrick went on to say that he didn’t really understand the performance, which many people clearly agree with. Miley had social media in an uproar and people are still talking about the twerking travesty. While Miley may have been trying to “out-weird” people and add a shock factor to her performance, Kirkpatrick explained that’s not what it should be about. “It’s about the music and the kids wanna see you out there doing your songs and just being you. I’m sure she’s a great girl, but I’m disappointed.”

But enough about Miley, can we just have an *NSYNC reunion tour? Please and thank you.
