What if your job was to play video games, and live in a house with your friends creating content? For players with @TeamNewAge, that lifestyle is not a dream; it’s their reality.
Team New Age does just that for its players, and gives them the chance and tools to be even bigger; and make more money. The business is relatively new, being started in 2020 by three longtime friends, but has seen so much success with its management and team, they continue to grow and help create stars.
One of the founding fathers, Kirsh, grew up watching and playing video games with one of his longtime favorites being FIFA. After realizing video game content could be something you actually monetize, he had an idea.
Kirsh, who was working in New York City at the time in Finance, had a decision to make when his firm eventually shut down because of the Pandemic in 2020. Rather than search for a new finance job, he took a risk and it seems to have paid off.
“I had some money saved from the stock market, and I went up to my friends and said, ‘hey, I think we can start something here,” says Kirsh.
What started out small, quickly grew into something bigger, possibly by The Pandemic uprooting what jobs would remain. After all, people were working from home now and not going out as much. What a better time to start?
“I didn’t want to work at a desk my whole life, so I dived in head first.” says Kirsh.
The team signed smaller players with just a few hundred followers. After seeing the progress they were able to achieve, they went even bigger. Team New Age picked up players from around the world, including Slick; known for being one of the best professional Fortnite players in Mexico.
“We are able to provide IRL content by living in the house. We also have a videographer here, so we’re able to help them develop their own personal brands.”
Team New Age has also been sponsored by Respawn and has entered into the NFT game with Sushiverse.
