One Direction. Biggest boy band around. Three studio albums out. Now, the group's fourth studio album in three years, FOUR, is on its way, and the era seems to finally have kicked off for good. After announcing the record and breaking records with their free buzz single, "Fireproof", the band has now come back to drop the proper lead single, "Steal My Girl".
The track serves as the second offering to be lifted from their forthcoming studio album, yet it's definitely also the first official one. It was crafted by the group's very own Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, along with regular collaborators, Wayne Hector, John Ryan, Julian Bunetta and Ed Drewett. "Steal My Girl" finds the boys of One Direction further experimenting with the rock-ier pop roots delivered on their last record, Midnight Memories. This one keeps the stadium-sized approach, but ends up sounding more mature. Drum beats lay on top of sweet piano keys, while the chorus hook remains extremely catchy and radio-friendly.
Definitely one more step in the right direction! - pun intended.
The ever-dedicated One Direction fans saw the single surfacing online a bit earlier in low quality. After the fans noticed Liam Payne's tweets from a bit earlier about being bored, it was assumed he let "Steal My Girl" leak on the internet. Therefore, they got #LiamWeKnowItWasYou a worldwide trending topic on Twitter. Later on, it was officially unleashed on its scheduled, September 29 release date.
One Direction's fourth studio album, FOUR, is expected to drop on November 17. For the time being, give their new single a listen here! Do you love it as much as their previous work? Tell us in the comment section below!
